Studly: DIY Studded Gladiator Sandals

Glitter N Glue Studded Alexander Wang Inspired Gladiator SandalsRecently I posted my list of Summer DIY project to complete before Fall. On my list was A Pair And A Spare‘s Alexander Wang inspired gladiator sandals. I knew I had to craft them before it’s officially boot weather. Lucky for me I live in Los Angeles and even though yesterday was the 1st official full day of Fall, we had a high of 85 degrees. Looks like I have a few more weeks to enjoy my sandals.

Click here to see the full tutorial. Thanks A Pair And A Spare for the DIY inspiration! I added the stud embellishment to make the project my own. Click here to watch the studding process.

Studded. Sandals. I’m obsessed!! Last summer I purchased a pair of white and gold studded sandals from Target and as my Grandma would say, I wore a hole in ’em… literally. The studded sandal is the perfect summer shoe because it’s edgy yet chic and goes with almost anything. On this weeks video I show you how to transform a basic pair of sandals into a sassy studded pair.

DIY: Stud Trim Embellished Pump

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASole Society teamed up actress Julianne Hough and together produced a collection of fun and fashionable shoes. The moment I laid my eyes on these minty pumps I knew I wanted to give them a Glitter ‘N Glue make over. I love theĀ silhouette of this pump plus the color is girly and perfect for the season. I thought a studded embellishment would be the perfect way to add a little flare to this ultra feminine shoe.

DIY: Glitter ‘N Glue’s Embellished Collar Featured On Forever 21’s Blog The Skinny

I was so excited when Forever 21 asked me to get a little crafty for their blog, The Skinny. Seriously who doesn’t love a good Forever 21? Their recently remodeled store at the Beverly Center here in Los Angeles is my second home. No for reals all the employees know me by name there and I about to start having my mail delivered to that address. Click here to see how I dressed up this Forever 21 lace top with a few turquoise studs from their accessories department. So simple, so chic and so many possibilities. Again you can see the full full tutorial here.

Cheers to the weekend my loves. Make it a good one!!! xoxo

CelebriDIY Inspiration: Embellished Ankle Straps

Emily Blunt inĀ Gianvito Rossi,Ā Hayden Panettiere in Jimmy Choo, Cassie in Cavalli

So I’ve noticed how celebrities have been opting for minimal traditional jewelry (ie: earrings, necklaces, etc…) and choosing to accessorise their… ankles! That’s right the ankles are making big come back on red carpets all across the world. As if that sexy ankle ever went out of style!

Imagine my DIY delight when I was sitting front row at Nina Ricci and I got an up close an personal look at these blinged out ankleĀ embellished pumps (and by sitting front row I mean scanning the collection on Style.com). My mind was in creative overdrive…

Although my bright blue Aldo wedges are pretty amazing as is, I thought they could use a little embellishment

I ran to my jewelry box an pulled out ever bling out brooch, button and earring I could find. I love the Nina Ricci inspired look, but don’t be afraid to add feather, bows, flowers, studs or chains to your ankle straps. There’s no material a lil E6000 can’t hold!

DIYers Tip: If you use brooches you can simply slip them over the straps. Then there’s no need for glue. You can wear your shoes with or without the embellishments. Who doesn’t love options?!?

DIY: Neon Stud Clutch

L to R: Solange Knowles with C.C. Skye Clutch, Aldo Shoes, Tylie Malibu Clutch

Last weekend, while on a little shopping spree, I tweeted out a few pics of pieces that tickled my fancy. You guys were really excited about anything neon. I’m obsessed with the bright colored shoes from Aldo and I basically want everything in Nanette Lepore’s Spring collection. Clearly you guys are just as into the brights as I am. So as promised, here’s a little neon clutch DIY tutorial that’s a must for your Spring wardrobe.

Materials: A Clutch, Stud Trim, Glue, Fluorescent Spray Paint

First, use a little E6000 to glue the stud trim directly to the clutch.

Transform your clutch from dull to delicious by adding a little spray paint. Use painters tape to protect the hardware of the bag from being covered in paint.

You shouldn’t need more than two coats. Just be sure to give it plenty of time to dry.

Jumpsuit from BCBGeneration, Leopard wedges from Chinese Laundry

Stylist tip: If the bands of a halter top are long enough, try playing around with different ways of tying your top. Criss cross the bands in the back and tie it under your bust line for a different look.

The Oscars are this weekend so I had to hit the palm tree lined streets of Beverly Hills for this shot. The sun was shinning and I was feeling so Hollywood. Are you excited about the Oscars? For me, the main event is the red carpet. I’m looking forward to seeing who will be wearing what.

DIY: Studded iPad Cover

Recently my level of work productivity has been at an all time low. Instead of responding to emails or taking care of other Glitter ‘N Glue business details yesterday, I spent the afternoon with a tube of E600 going rockstar on my iPad case. Seriously, I went into my craft closet to grab some paints for another project and was distracted by blinging studs. I spent the afternoon watching Wendy Williams and gluing studs to my hard iPad cover. I just had to share. Fashion meets technology. So even though when my alarm went off this morning I thought it was Friday (fail), I’m raising the coffee cup and cheersing to beingĀ  more productive today than yesterday. Cheers!
