As promised a bolder, brighter more adventurous Miss Kris and here we are… a curvy girl, wearing horizontal stripes and a crop top standing in front of a bright pink wall. BOOM! Happy Tuesday!! I simply adore this “I heart Ronson” two piece that I picked up from JCPenney’s. WHAT?!? I know! Where you aware that fashion designer Charlotte Ronson designs a wonderful collection exclusively for JCPenney’s?! I love then fantastic designer team up with retailers to bring us fabulous wares at reasonable prices. I love the bold, graphic lines of these pieces and I really loved the way this crop top fit my body. I personally like my crop tops to fit longer and looser. I pair them with skirts or pants that cover my belly button this way I still feel comfortable while sporting this trend.
This week has been go, go, go! I’m rallying the troops and working overtime in preparation for a HUGE announcement coming your way soon. Yes… be excited! I promise you’ll love it. Anyway, the days are long but the time flies when you’re living your dreams so no complaints here!
This week however, I did make time for a middle of the day Target run. I ran in with the full intent of only picking up a few cleaning supplies when I stumbled up this cream colored Mossimo vest. It was hanging on the rack and literally stopped me dead in my tracks, arms full of paper towels and everything. I loved the oversize look, the big collar, buttons details and the $30 price tag…SOLD!
For a chic day look I paired the vest with a black pencil skirt and tank. This black and white outfit seems so very Chanel to me. I accessorized it with the statement earrings I made out of buttons. Yes, those are buttons dangling from my ears. This DIY process is very similar to my button ring tutorial (here). First, find a pair of ultra fab buttons and use a pair of pliers to remove the shank from the back. To turn them into earrings, use a dab of E6000 to add earring post to the back of the button and allow at least a half hour to dry.
This vest is so versatile that you can easily dress it up or down. Throw on a pair of black faux leather pants and add a clutch for a sexy nigh time look. I searched the website high and low for a link for you guys to purchase it online, but couldn’t find one. So sorry, but I’m sure you were heading to Target already this week so keep your eyes out for it!
I never make New Year’s resolutions because let’s be honest, I never keep them. I do however set New Year’s goals. One of my goals this year is dedicated to the growth of my business and brand. 2014 is the year of sisters doing it for themselves… que the music Arentha and Annie (here). I believe female entrepreneurship will be the real winner of 2014 and I’ll be doing my part. I started my blog 3 years ago while I was still working as a wardrobe stylist, but I’ve been only working on it full time for the past year. The beauty of working from home now is that when I’m in need of a change of work venue or human interaction, I pack up my office supplies and head to a quaint coffee shop or shared office space. Have fresh coffee and wifi… will travel!
This week I crashed the Stylesmith offices in downtown LA to get a little work in while in between appointments. I’m loving my new JustFab “Longitude” tote. It perfectly holds my computer, camera and other work essentials.
A few other must have office supplies: No.1 Kate Spade Spiral Notebook | No. 2 Sharpies | No. 3 Tape | No. 4 Pencils | No. 5 Eraser | No. 6 Screen Cleaner | No.7 Gold Binder Clips or Paper Clips | No. 8 Post Its
Also, I’d love to hear some input from you… what new wold you love to see of the blog? I have some really fun DIYs planned, but I get lots of emails requesting other content like outfits, drink recipes, more videos with my Mom (although I think that email came from her). Let me know what’s on your mind! xoxo
It seems like everyone likes to play dress up during the Holiday season, even Rodeo Drive. I love taking a stroll down Rodeo in Beverly Hills during Christmas time. The street is always decorated with some many twinkling lights and the store fronts are decorated so festively. I donned my favorite Holiday staple sequin pencil skirt (available at Express) and my DIY jeweled purse for a little la la luxe window shopping.
