DIY: Gold Painted Wine Glasses
The countdown to Thanksgiving is on and I’m completely thrilled! I’ve been loving all the tablescape post and photos floating round the internet lately. When I stumbled upon the above image on Pinterest I thought 1.) I want to go to their house for dinner and 2.) I need to make those gold painted wine glasses for my collection. THESE GLASSES!!!! So glamorous and so simple to make.
First. start with a clean wine glass.
Use painters tape to cover the rim of the glass
One of my absolute favorite craft supplies… Martha Stewart’s Gold Liquid Guilding Paint
Paint the base of your wine glass
What a great idea, Kristen! I just love the final result! Do you know if it’s dishwasher safe? xo Mila

My guess would be no. I don’t have a dishwasher (yes I have to do everything by hand ugggg) but I would guess the paint would come off. Plus I wouldn’t want the paint mixing with the other dishes I eat off of. I’d say they’re decorative and since wine glasses can be so cheap (found these at ikea + the $1 store) I’d make them for one big party and then throw them out if you, like me, despise hand washing wine glasses! lol

Oh my gosh no dishwasher? I would revolt and only use paper plates paired with super classy red solo cups!
I like the IKEA idea, that is so smart. I will have to try this idea for our next dinner party!

This would unify a set of mismatched stemware. Question, where did you get the paint?
I really, really like them and it’s a must-do.

I picked it up at Michael’s. Martha Stewart makes it, but a company called PLAID also makes the metallic paint and it works jsut as well! Such a great idea to unify mismatched stemware š
