DIY: Feather Peplum Belt

Peplum is a fashion do all day in my playbook! It gives me a waist and accentuates my curves. Any who doesn’t love that combination. I’m a fan of the feathers so a feather peplum DIY was inevitable. Enjoy this easy, breezy, beautiful tutorial…

Materials: Feather Trim, Ribbon, Fabric Glue

Ok are you guys ready for this… Step 1: glue the feather trim to the ribbon and THAT’S IT! Yes this project is so simple. Just be sure that you leave the tails of the ribbon long enough to tie a pretty bow in the back when you wear it.

I paired my new DIY belt with the black Maggy London dress I purchased last Holiday season. This is my favorite LBD because let’s be honest…it brings all the boys to the yard! lol

I love the feathers but the back bow is by far my favorite part. To me there’s nothing more girlie and chic that an oversized bow!

    November 13, 2012 at 12:19 am

    • I bought the feathers at Joyce Trim in New York while I was in town for Fashion Week and I had the ribbon in my craft closet, but you can purchase at your local craft/ fabric store I’m sure!

Love it!! Girl, I gotta ask, how do you keep those bad boys up and looking good?! I’m having such a hard time finding a good strapless bra =/

    November 14, 2012 at 8:11 pm

    • Yes! You have to go to Intimacy (www.myintimacy.com) Hopefully they have one in your area. They’ll fit you perfectly and they have a large selection of sizes including larger cup sizes. The bras are a little pricey (mine range from like $70-$100) but they’re SO worth it! I hope that helps! xoxo
